Outstanding Contribution Award
Winner of the 15th AIMIA Awards Outstanding Contribution Award - Peta Pash
She has called herself the granny of the digital media industry.
She is the Countess of Committee Coordination, the Princess of Policy, the Duchess of Do-ers, the Queen of Collaboration and, lastly, and most importantly, the MEGA Marchioness of Mobile.
Peta Pash has had a profound influence on the development of the interactive media industry in Australia, by bringing together educators, students, digital artists, IT professionals, and the digital media industry to form entrepreneurial teams for business development.
She is an outstanding achiever in the industry, whose efforts are worthy of the Outstanding Contribution.
She has worked tirelessly and with humility for 15 years to grow the industry, without recognition, reward or personal gain.
She is one of the longest and the best-preserved members of AIMIA.
Not one to stint on effort, she leaves the 2 minute elevator pitches to others and instead presents 45 minute pitches to almost anyone she can fight her way into a cab with. If she’s been in your cab you might still need therapy.
Peta’s dedication, humour and sheer excitement has inspired many companies to work and thrive in our sector, mainly though her flagship project, the mobile enterprise growth alliance (mega). Mega is a workshop lab within which ideas for mobile content and applications are developed with the direct support of Australia's leading industry experts before being pitched to a panel of investors.
After building the project from its initial concept to its current operation in South Australia, Victoria and NSW, with participation also from WA and Queensland, Peta now works as mega’s National Manager.
Peta has earned the respect of her colleagues and collaborators. She recognises the importance of industry participation in the pursuit of education and training in the ICT and digital media sectors. Her personal integrity and credibility has convinced many industry leaders across Australia to commit their valuable time to projects, which aim to bridge the gap between training and work.
Peta we look forward to your continued contribution to our industry, but tonight, for your contribution to the new media industry in Australia to date, we salute you.
