Welcome to the AIMIA Internship Program
The AIMIA internship program was originally an initiative of the AIMIA Mobile Industry Group. After consultation with academic institutions, students and potential host companies based in Australia, a successful pilot scheme was run in early 2007 involving AIMIA Members The University of Technology Sydney and Hyro.
This internship program, now supported by the NSW Department of State and Regional Development (DSRD), is designed to create access for undergraduate and post graduate students in the rapidly growing digital media industry. The program brings together Australian higher education organisations and companies operating in the digital media industry to give students a formal, structured internship opportunity while still studying or after recently graduating.
The program is designed to:
- Enable students to gain real-world work experience and further enhance employment opportunities
- Increase students' skills and interest in careers in the mobile industry
- Increase placement in jobs for students who complete the program
- Demonstrate to prospective employers that students are solid prospects for the industry workforce
- Introduce students to to professionals in the digital and mobile content industry
AIMIA encourages Sydney-based higher education institutions and companies to participate in the program.
