8TH ANNUAL AUSTRALIAN MOBILE PHONE LIFESTYLE INDEX (AMPLI)

For the 8th year in a row, the AIMIA Mobile Industry Group presents the results of their annual survey looking at how Australians use their mobile phones. The report looks at how things are changing in the mobile landscape with the special topic for this year focusing on the impact of Tablets on Mobile Phone Usage.

The overall objective of this annual study is to gain insights into the current and changing profile, behaviour and preferences of Australian mobile phone users over time. It remains the only known national, independent tracking study that makes its comprehensive results freely available to all interested parties.

Key findings from the 8th Annual AMPLI report include:

  • Almost 40 per cent of respondents own a tablet, up from 16 per cent in 2011
  • Satisfaction with carrier services remains low
  • Apple dominates with iPhone and iPad the most popular handset and tablet respectively
  • Application use continues to rise
